BRADEN JAMES FURNITURE

Braden James Furniture (BJF) is a boutique, furniture restoration business based in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Known for meticulous attention to detail and creative flair, BJF specialises in restoring discarded furniture and giving it a refined new lease on life.

WHY DID THEY NEED US?

After self-managing their branding from the beginning, Braden James Furniture approached us to professionally develop a cohesive logo suite. They wanted a brand that would elevate their customer-facing presence and reflect the premium craftsmanship of their work, while being versatile enough to adapt across different mediums and uses. Their key goals were:

  • Create a bold, sexy, and striking brandmark that could be used flexibly across digital, print, apparel, and even heat-branding on furniture
  • Develop a responsive logo suite with multiple variants for different applications
  • Craft a minimalist but bold visual identity that aligned with high-end references like Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein — minimal, slightly masculine, and stylishly confident.

THE CHALLENGE

Design a logo suite and minimalist colour palette that positioned the brand as professional, established, and premium — without losing its creative edge. Their tone of voice is confident but humble, boldly creative, established and trustworthy, and professional with an edge.

HOW DID WE DO IT?

We began with a comprehensive business discovery questionnaire to understand the heart of Braden James Furniture – from its values and personality to its long-term goals. This insight guided our design process, allowing us to craft a visual identity that felt authentic and elevated. From there, we created a responsive logo suite featuring custom monogram designs of the company’s acronym (BJF), a bold sans serif font, a refined colour palette — all built for flexibility across digital, print, apparel, and product branding.

WHY DID WE DESIGN IT THIS WAY?
WHAT PROBLEMS DID WE SOLVE?

Braden James Furniture wanted to look more professional and established while retaining its creative edge. The new identity solves this by combining premium aesthetics with versatile application, creating a bold, masculine monogram that aligns with high-end references like Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein. The logo suite ensures consistency across all touchpoints.

THE RESULT

A sleek, confident visual identity that communicates craftsmanship, trust, and professionalism. The new visuals elevate the brand’s perceived value and provide a cohesive, future-proof system ready for any medium.
